Why We Built​ Utably
We didn’t start Utably to build another career tool. We started because we witnessed a fundamental breakdown in how careers are built and sustained. After watching countless talented professionals, brilliant, capable, deserving individuals, get trapped in reactive cycles of job hunting rather than proactive career building, we realised the problem wasn’t individual shortcomings. It was systemic failure.

A dynamic year full of building, testing, and laying the foundation for career transformation
From Idea to Vision
February 2025 focused on market research and problem validation as the team analyzed ATS systems, CV builders, and job platforms to understand common blockers in the application process. These findings directly guided the development of Utably's first feature set, with emphasis on clarity, fairness, and real hiring outcomes.
Utably is Born
September 2025 marked the official birth of Utably as the company was registered by three co-founders with a clear mission to fix what is broken in the job application process. The founding team was driven by a desire to give every job seeker a fair chance with clear, ethical tools built for real-world hiring.
Making Noise
October 2025 saw the launch of the first version of the website alongside the establishment of social media presence. This milestone marked the beginning of initial marketing efforts designed to build brand visibility and attract early community interest.
Waitlist Campaign
In November we are planning to introduce the waitlist launch through a soft marketing campaign, allowing us to capture user interest, build momentum, and create a direct feedback loop with our early community of potential users.
Real User Tests
By January 2026, we plan to roll out our real-user testing, onboarding participants to test the platform within a live environment. We will implement analytics and error tracking systems as we work towards releasing core tools such as the CV builder and appendix/cover letter creators. Further tools we look to build upon during this period include our User Dashboard, ATS Scan, Training Hub and Strength Assessment, which will gradually be rolled out during Utably’s continued development.
Closed Beta Launch
April 2026 is when we look to launch our Closed Beta with all of Utably’s tools for further testing within a controlled group. By seeking further feedback about our tools and identifying potential bugs that could disrupt the user experience, these insights will be used to optimise our tools ready for a wider, final release of Utably.

For Q3 2026 we aim for our public launch, making Utably fully available at utably.com.Â

Enhanced Platform Performance
We will significantly improve platform speed, reduce loading times, and ensure seamless user experience across all devices. Based on feedback from our user-testing, we're prioritising stability improvements that make every interaction with Utably smooth and dependable, so you can focus on building your career without technical frustrations.
Harden for beta with stress testing at scale
We will harden the platform for beta with stress testing at scale to validate performance under real demand. This phase pushes load across key journeys and data flows so reliability and responsiveness hold steady as usage grows.
Bug fixing & privacy and security checks
We will accelerate bug fixing with tight triage and fast releases to remove friction users encounter. In parallel we will complete privacy and security checks, confirm EU data locality and consent controls, and document safeguards for institutional review.
Optimising user experience
We will analyse insights from the closed beta to refine usability, navigation, and design consistency. User feedback will guide improvements that make every feature feel intuitive, stable, and ready for daily use as we prepare for wider adoption.
Expanding content and depth
We will enrich Utably with new role specific templates, expanded interview preparation, and refined training modules that strengthen the learning and application journey for different career paths.
Preparing for public release
We will continue large scale stress testing, complete compliance and scalability checks, and finalise infrastructure to ensure Utably is fast, reliable, and ready for its full launch in Q3 2026.
Audits and legal readiness
We will complete all privacy, data protection, and security audits required for institutional and government partnerships. Legal frameworks, licensing models, and compliance documentation will be finalised to support future collaborations and international expansion.
Public launch
We will launch Utably to the public, opening access to users across the UK and other English speaking markets. The release will showcase our privacy first design, human and AI collaboration, and integrated career system that connects writing, guidance, and learning in one place.
Growth and next steps
We will drive user acquisition through digital campaigns, universities, and employability programs while collecting anonymised performance data to refine guidance, improve outcomes, and prepare for localisation and wider market entry in the following quarters.
Advanced Personality & Strengths Assessment
We'll launch our comprehensive Personality Hub featuring deeper career personality analysis, communication style insights, and work environment preferences. Seed Funding Round & Platform Expansion
We will aim for a seed funding round to accelerate platform development, expand our engineering team, and fuel international growth.
